A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Hi everyone !!
I want to thank you for choosing Jefferson ISD!! I believe Jefferson is “The Place to Be”, as we have a wonderful staff, a supportive school board, and a growing student population. Also, Jefferson is a thriving city, set in beautiful Marion County. Jefferson is a special community with lots to do. We have wonderful restaurants, great antique stores, lots of historical sites and homes, (particularly bed-and-breakfasts), and fun events almost every week of the year. If you have never been to Jefferson, Texas, I urge you to come for a visit.
At JISD, we expect to maintain a “holistic” approach, striving to ensure all of our students get the best education possible, while also helping every child grow and mature into becoming the best person they can be. We help our students improve in all areas while guiding them to identify their strengths and interests in order to assist them in their future endeavors, whether their journey takes them into the work force, the military, or an institution of higher learning.
Parents, I want the school year to be fulfilling and rewarding for you and your children. We (the JISD staff and administration) are here to serve your child’s needs. I expect our teachers and staff to communicate with you as needed. I encourage you, as parents, to stay connected with your child’s teachers and administrators. Teamwork and communication are key ingredients for a positive educational experience.
Also, for information, feel free to check out JISD’s facebook page on our website.
Again, I invite you to come visit us at Jefferson ISD, where we are proud of our successful academic and extra-curricular programs. Let us know if we can assist you in any way.

DISTRICT-WIDE FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS
The Jefferson Independent School District is proud to announce a district-wide change in policy of serving meals to children under the National School Lunch Program and National School Breakfast Program for the 2019 – 2020 school year. Jefferson I.S.D. is now eligible to operate the Community Eligbility Provision (CEP), which provides free breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminates the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. The approach reduces burdens for families and school administrators and helps ensure that student receive meals.
