Jefferson ISD “Home of the Bulldogs!”

Working for JISD offers big opportunities in a small town environment. Our teachers are encouraged and given the tools necessary for professional growth. We offer trainings throughout the year for all aspects of teaching from curriculum to classroom management, to student growth. Our New teachers are also paired with a mentor teacher during their first year in a classroom. We offer competitive pay and we are a Teacher Incentive Allotment approved district which helps boost the salaries of teachers who earn the different designations. There are also several opportunities to be more involved and earn additional stipends at each of our campuses. Jefferson has two daycare options for children ages birth-afterschool care: Country Day School (903-665-2845) and Happy Hippopotamus Daycare (903-601-4435). For older Pre-K children, Jefferson Primary School has a pre-k program for 3 & 4 year olds as well as a headstart program for those who qualify. Contact the Primary School for more information (903-665-2461, opt. 3).

“One of the many reasons why I love working for Jefferson ISD is the support I get from my colleagues, administrators, and parents.”

“After teaching for over 2 decades in a neighboring district, I wasn't sure what to expect when I made the decision to come to JISD. I was assured by a current JJHS employee that I would love it here, and they were right! From the beginning, I have been treated so kindly, trusted professionally, and given whatever resources I need to be successful. My favorite part of JJHS is the genuinely positive atmosphere. The fact that JISD also participates in, and teachers here have received, the incentive allotment also helped me make the decision to come to JISD. From my sweet students to my amazing co-workers and admin, I am grateful to have found a wonderful home here at JISD! “
