STRENGTH &

CONDITIONING

Mission Statement
The primary mission of the Jefferson Strength and Conditioning Program is the overall health and well-being of the student athlete.  Our two main goals here at Jefferson High School are injury prevention and performance enhancement.  We are committed to providing a strength and conditioning program that develops our student athletes into champions in their respective sports.  We strive to improve our student athlete’s flexibility, strength, power, speed, and agility.  Here at Jefferson it is about the T.E.A.M.

Philosophy
The Jefferson Strength and Conditioning program is founded on the basis of sound principles, practical application, and great expectations.  We design programs to address improved performance and enhance injury prevention.  Strength training is the foundation of the program and we build upon that foundation through plyometric, speed and agility training, and sport specific conditioning to develop athleticism and improved sports performance.  We utilize accurate, valid and reliable testing protocols to assess progress, provide effective feedback, and serve as an adjunct to the student athletes training experience.  Interaction with the student athletes is the core of the program. Success in sport is about enabling and encouraging the student athlete.  We provide great coaching via effective and thorough technique instruction, motivation and communication.
